e-liquid ingredients prove harmless to humans
The main ingredients in e-liquid are glycerin and propylene glycol. In order to test the impact on human health, according to the ASPET magazine, scientists put orangutans and mice in high concentrations of steam for 12 to 18 months. Animal experiments, and an equal number of reference samples were prepared. The same method is also used to test the effects of direct swallowing of glycerol and propylene glycol on human health. In swallowing experiments, animals were dosed 50 to 700 times the amount of glycerol and propylene glycol ingested through breathing.
In the development rate, blood cell count, urine test, renal function test, fertility and other indicators, the test results of the test group and the control group show that there is no essential difference between them. The only difference is that the mice are exposed to propylene glycol vapor. Medium consistently showed higher weight. After months of exposure to high saturated steam of glycerin, the orangutan's facial skin was a bit dry. However, this disappeared when the vapor concentration dropped below saturation.
Autopsy did not find any differences between the experimental group and the reference group, and lung examination did not reveal any overall and local irritation of the animal's lungs with glycerin and propylene glycol vapor. The kidney, liver, spleen, and bone marrow of the experimental group Also show normal.
The results of this experiment, and the fact that there are no human cases of illness caused by exposure to glycerol and propylene glycol vapors, prove that long-term exposure to glycerol and propylene glycol saturated vapors is harmless.
