FDA postpones vape product registration
In May of this year, after voting in Congress, Scott Gottlieb became the new US FDA director. At the time of taking office, many media predicted that it was good news for the US Vape industry. However, this good news is coming too fast. Scott Gottlieb took office for about two months and brought good news!
On July 28th, the US FDA issued an announcement on the official website, announcing a new comprehensive tobacco and nicotine regulatory plan, saying: "The plan is to release a new implementation policy soon", delaying the registration of Vape products.
The date of delaying the application for registration of the product is not delayed by a few months, nor delayed by one year, but delayed by four years! Postponed until August 8, 2022.
Although the US FDA also issued a statement last year, it delayed the registration of products. However, the date of delaying the application for registration of the product is completely different.
I used to say that it is the cause of the technical problem of the website. This time, the FDA realized that even if the nicotine content in cigarettes is reduced to zero, it may not reduce the health hazard of smoking. Please refer to the previous article: "FDA confirms that nicotine does not cause Cancer".
It can be seen that this major regulatory adjustment is intended to encourage smokers to switch to Vape, which may be less harmful, and more time to study the use of Vape to develop a more reasonable Vape management system.
After the announcement, the share prices of major US and UK tobacco companies plummeted. Shares of cigarette producer and tobacco giant Altria Group fell more than 9%, and British American Tobacco fell 7.40%. Philip Morris International fell 1.66%. The market value of the world's largest tobacco producer lost about $26 billion.
Gregory Conley, president of the American Chartered Dealers Association, said: "Reversely, we are relieved. Without the leadership of Gotley's layout, more than 99% of the steam products on the market today will be in 15 months. Prohibited."
However, fundamentally, this has not changed the essence of the FDA's Vape regulation. By 2022, FDA regulation will still kill most of the US Vape brand, but this also gives you more Vape manufacturers. Time to perfect their products, and more time to test Vape effects and safety. I believe that for 5 years, Hangboo e-liquid will do better and safer. Perhaps Vape will get more support by then.
Gregory Conley said: "If Gottley's layout really wants to reduce death and disease in the long run, this announcement should be the first step in reforming the FDA's regulatory process." This FDA change has just matched the current Vape market. In 2018, Vape returned to the year. Vape turned from smoking cessation and experience to big smoke, and finally returned to the original intention of quitting smoking and replacing cigarettes. I hope that after 5 years, Vape will become the first choice for smokers to quit smoking, and successfully quit smoking for more smokers and reduce the harm of cigarettes to smokers.
