U.S. health officials prove that vitamin E acetate causes vape disease

In August, there were several suspected vape-caused diseases in the United States that were exposed, and then a number of media identified the root cause of the disease as vape. The vape industry suffered a major blow for a time, but on November 26 Japanese health officials said they have more evidence that a certain chemical compound is the culprit in vape disease outbreaks nationwide.

According to reports, the researchers analyzed the black market vape containers seized in Minnesota during the vape disease outbreak in 2019 and the e-liquid seized in the state in 2018. The newer container contains the complex vitamin E acetate, but the older sample does not. They also looked at vape containers collected from a dozen patients. Vitamin E acetate is also very common.

The report said the study was small in scale, but echoed other studies that found the compound in the damaged lungs of 29 patients nationwide.

"The results of the study further demonstrate the potential role of vitamin E acetate in causing lung damage associated with vape products," said Minnesota Health Officer Dr. Ruth Linfield.

The e-liquid used by vape is a liquid, and even in many cases it is completely transparent. Customers can easily add some substances they need to e-liquid, for example, some people will add some vitamins, mint, cold Flavors, CBD, and even THC.
