Washington 377 companies terminate vape licenses
According to foreign news reports, the Washington State Liquor and Hemp Commission said that since Washington State imposed a temporary ban on e-liquid vape products in October, at least 377 companies have terminated their vape product licenses.
About half of the business is stores such as Rite AID and Bartell Drugs. The other half are smaller businesses that have closed stores because flavored vape products make up a large portion of their inventory.
Matt Bradley from Discovery Channel ’s Deadliest Catch show owns Sky Vapor in Everett. He hopes that Governor Jay Inslee will lift the ban in February.
Due to the ban, Bradley has closed one of his three vape stores. He said that if the ban is not lifted, his two other stores will also be closed.
"I want Inslee to lift the ban and let us do business as usual," Bradley said. "They see this strategy as useless. However, he did not lift the ban, they got what they wanted, they took us all.
The media commented to the governor's office but did not respond. The Ministry of Health says the vape rule is necessary because it is a public health emergency.
