Why are drugs involved in vape?
In recent years, vape, as a new type of tobacco product, has received widespread attention and controversy around the world. One of the most controversial aspects of vape is that it is easily associated with drug abuse, and there are many cases on the Internet of people using vape to take drugs and sell drugs, so many people think that vape is a drug. One case I know of is that a colleague was in After taking a sip of vape at home, his father severely criticized him and even threw the vape away in front of him.
It can be seen that in the eyes of many people, especially older people, vape is linked to drugs. Even if vape is not a drug, using vape can easily turn into drug abuse. I don't agree with this view. Some people also use cigarettes to take drugs, so why are cigarettes accepted by the public? Let me explain my point of view below.
First. Let’s first talk about what vape is:
Vape is a tobacco product that heats e-liquid to produce vapor for smoking (at least it is now classified as tobacco). Compared with traditional tobacco products, vape has the characteristics of no open flame, no smoke, and no tar, so it is regarded by some people as a healthier way of smoking. However, in recent years, some people have begun to use vape for drug abuse, and there have even been cases of vape drug trafficking.
Second. The main reasons why vape is easily associated with drug use are as follows:
1. The appearance and smoking method of vape are similar to traditional drug smoking methods, which can easily lead to misunderstanding.
2. Some people believe that e-liquid in vape can add various chemicals and therefore can be used to make drugs.
3. In some countries and regions, vape is regulated as a tobacco product, and tobacco products are often addictive and harmful similar to drugs.
Third. I personally think that this view is not objective:
1. Vape and drugs are essentially different. Vape is a tobacco product that does not contain drug ingredients. Drugs are illegal drugs that are addictive and harmful. Therefore, it is incorrect to consider vape as a drug.
2. The emergence of vape has not caused a surge in drug use. In fact, the global drug problem is still serious, but there is no evidence that the popularity and promotion of vape is related to the increase in drugs. On the contrary, with the advancement of science and technology and the strengthening of regulatory policies, some traditional methods of drug transmission have been combated and curbed.
3. There are many cases on the Internet of people using vape to take drugs and sell drugs, but this does not mean that vape itself is a drug. These cases are just individual phenomena and cannot represent the entire vape industry. At the same time, these cases also remind us of the importance of strengthening supervision and combating illegal activities.
4. Drug transmission still existed before vape. The drug problem is a complex social problem, and its emergence and spread are related to many factors, such as socioeconomic, cultural background, regulatory policies, etc. Therefore, it is incorrect to consider vape as the cause of drug spread.
Forth. Conclusion
In short, vape itself is not a drug. Although there are some people using vapes to take drugs and sell drugs, this does not mean that there is a problem with the entire vape industry. We should proceed from objective facts, correctly understand the relationship between vape and drugs, and strengthen supervision and crackdown on illegal activities to protect public health and safety.
